Wading In: Watershed Management in Nova Scotia
Registration is Full
Wading In: Watershed Management in Nova Scotia is a workshop that will bring together government, industry and non-governmental groups to develop options for the management of water resources in Nova Scotia. Join us shaping the future of water management for the province.
March 26 and 27, 2009
Old Orchard Inn, Wolfville
Nova Scotia is at a cross roads in terms of how its water resources are managed. To date, there has been no overarching structure for making integrated decisions on where, when and how water is used. Due to the increasing pressures of urban development, resource use and climate change, there is a need to be more proactive and establish a system where these sometimes-competing water needs can be addressed.
The Wading In: Watershed Management in Nova Scotia workshop will seek to address the following questions:
-
What forms of watershed-scale integrated management would work best for Nova Scotia?
-
Who should be involved in this and how?
-
How should community groups/ENGOs be part of this?
-
Should the same approach be applied to all NS watersheds
-
How do we get from here to there?
